And here is where I believe that the Stafford is currently the most overrated opening in all of amateur play. I just think, that people need to stay realistic in what to expect from an opening. I too enjoy such tricky and trappy openings on occasion. Then that bubble will burst and people will go on looking for the next magic miracle opening. Once people have lost against it a couple of times they will study ways to refute it or to at least handle it in a safe way. Yes, it scores exceedingly well at the moment, but that won't last. Many seem to think of it as the new wonder weapon, which in my opinion it is not.

I have found many interesting and valuable ideas there and the Stafford is also an interesting line with some practical chances in faster time controls especially.īut what I mean by "overrated" is not so much how frequently you encounter it but rather how people regard it. Don't get me wrong I love Eric Rosen and his videos. That hype is now going on for a while already. In any case, even if it's paid, i'll be more than happy to support it if it turns out to be good.Sefegiru Yes, I think Eric Rosen it the one responsible for the big hype the Stafford Gambit has received. Or do they own the original as well with the licence? Those who owned the original can still install it though.īut since the new EE devs don't own the original, it could be that they can't take it down themselves. Cause THQ Nordic took down the original Darksiders and replaced it with the Warmastered edition in the store. You mean SS2 "non enhanced edition" will still be up for sale? That's where we get the "Enhanced Edition" from. They used the initial funds from that to develop Kex for it. It's like how SS1 on Steam was distributed. It's just that it will be using a new engine. Originally posted by frumple:What is the point of making an enhanced edition then giving it away for free? It costs money to produce, and if it's good, it's worth selling.
